About the Client

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the UN’s health agency; its Regional Office for Africa leads health-system support across the continent.

Challenge & Solution

WHO needed the user guide for its Health Labor Market Analysis (HLMA) Support Tool migrated from an outdated Word layout to a clean, modern InDesign design. Our team rebuilt the 46-page manual end-to-end:

  • New cover and section openers
  • Corporate fonts, colors, and paragraph styles
  • A custom icon set for info, important, and tip callouts
  • Modern on-brand overlays on the tool’s Excel screenshots
  • Print-ready and interactive PDF outputs from a single source

Structure & Navigation

Dense procedures are made scannable – color-coded step boxes, numbered sequences, and the custom callout icon set guide the reader, while full-bleed section openers separate the guide’s parts. All content was extracted from the legacy files and reflowed into the new design.

Client Benefits

  • A dated Word manual transformed into a clean, on-brand InDesign publication
  • Consistent corporate identity across the cover, openers, and 46 inner pages
  • Complex tool instructions made clear through structured steps and annotated screenshots
  • Reusable style system – fonts, colors, icons – for future guides and updates
  • Both print and interactive PDF outputs from a single source

Results & Deliverables

  • A 46-page WHO user guide fully redesigned from legacy Word to InDesign
  • New cover, section openers, corporate styles, and a custom callout icon set
  • Tool screenshots rebuilt with modern, on-brand annotation overlays
  • Print-ready and interactive PDF versions delivered from a single source
  • Reusable InDesign style system for effortless future updates
